Joseph De Zoysa

Hello, I'm Joseph, a marine biology student at the University of Plymouth. I'm passionate about natural sciences, ecology, conservation, and marine biology, as well as entomology, beekeeping, and creating self-sustaining Terrariums and ecospheres. I'm an advanced open water diver and enrolled in the university's HSE scuba diving course. I'm also active in my university's marine biology, environmental, and gardening societies, and work with local conservation groups. As a former literature student, I enjoy producing engaging and emotionally charged writing, and hope to be a published author in the future.

Ari Drummond

I am a PhD candidate working on understanding the biology, ecology and behaviour of intertidal hermit crabs at the University of Plymouth. In addition, I am devoted to building connections, promoting diversity in science and helping students gain the confidence to ask questions and challenge the status quo. I work extensively with The Rock Pool Project to help forge new opportunities for collaboration across Plymouth—uniting people and marine life in projects of exploration and discovery. For more about me, check out my website:

Emmanuel Ballif

I'm a foundation year student in Marine Biology, studying at the University of Plymouth. I am interested in anything ocean-related, especially in the ecology, behaviour and conservation of coastal species, especially large marine vertebrates . I am an active member of many different charities in the UK and in France. I am a proud member and rock pool guide, working with The Rock Pool Project in Plymouth. I'm helping Ari Drummond with her PhD Research, gaining knowledge and skills in marine biology in the lab and the field.
